This second generation officer proved his mettle by accepting difficult jobs and duties, carrying on the brave family legacy. His fellow students praised him for being “a born leader full of courage and conviction” and for exceeding training requirements.

The President’s Plaque went to Flying Officer Amrinder Jit Singh of the Accounts Branch in recognition of his overall dominance among the Ground Duty branches. Flying Officer Amrinder Jit Singh of Punjab has had a difficult time adjusting to life in the Blues. He went from being an airman for 16 years to being the top performer among his contemporaries who were considerably younger than him. At the age of 36, he has demonstrated that an individual’s vision is driven by their will and ambition, rather than their age.

It has taken “patience and perseverance” for Flying Officer Lata Kaushik, who became the first commissioned Air Force officer from her hometown near Jhajjar in Haryana. She had previously failed to secure the coveted slot on the merit list, but on January 23, she stepped into the Air Force Academy with a vengeance, earning the 2nd all-India rank and fulfilling her dream at last.

Flying Officer Tanya Singh was named the best in Navigation, and Flying Officer Ryan Henriques was awarded the “Best in Flying” prize.
