The Indian Air Force conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to select Class-1 Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). The examination is held twice a year, in February and in August/September. Flying Branch: the maximum lifespan is 20 to 24 years. The maximum age limit for candidates with a valid and current DGCA (India) Commercial Pilot License is 26 years.
Ground Duty: a maximum of 20 to 26 years.
